hi guys, ive tried to take out my standard h.u but am having problems.i havent got the prong thingys, but have got something which resembles one. how much are they from halfords or somewhere?
am i right in thinkin you just push them straight in on each side and the h.u pops out? or do you have to lever them??
ive tried it with long thin screwdrivers but some of them went in and i could feel the clips releasing but the other side was solid and would let me insert the tool?
im a bit embarased cos its probably simple
any help appreciated

Basically i bought mine froma local motor sports shop which sells modded stuff like lights, gear nobs etc...
for the corsa, i bought 2 Sets of the keys, and Bent them ALL into L shapes. Put each one into each of the 4 holes and yanked the Vauxhall standard Headunit out!

no!
use the head unit removeal keys! otherwise your making so much extra work
get one set from halfords, (or ask very nicely at a ripspeed halfords store) and then when you put them into the holes (after removing the little grubscrews) the when you grip the keys try and pull them outwards (eg towards the left for the left one and towards the right for the right one) then give it a good tug towards you and it should come out.

Where are the grub screws? i havent seen any?

its ok it sounds like you dont have any...on some versions there is lil allan key things in where you would put the pins but if you;ve got them there kinda obvious there there as you cant put the pins in

All i used to pop mine out with was two halves of wire coat hanger folded into two prongs then in the holes in the side of the HU give them a little wiggle and out she comes with a little force applied too
