Got a bastard ticket the other day, and i think there is a loop hole whereby if the end does not have a defined start and end or is broken/badly faded that the line is not lawful.

I've checked the line i was on, and it has a start line, but then breaks up really badly, and there is no finish line.

Any ideas?

get some pictures of it, it should be unbroken and have both defined start and end, otherwise they cant touch you

i sell property in Manchester, and most of the time there are bugger all spaces to park. I was parked outside a place with hazards on, in a dead end street. Its a solid line, then bends round the corner, breaks off, then just fades away.

Does anyone know the actual law on this?

cheers fella, i'm off 2moz, so i'm gonna go and have a look.

Also been told that you are allowed a '5 minute grace period'. One of my work mates suggested that i wrote back and contest the fact that there wasn't a warden there for 5 mins.

cheers

Today i was parked outside a "choices" store in a loading only bay and a traffic warden was looking at my car, so i went outside and politely said i was just doing a quick 10min job in the store, expecting to be asked to move. he said "fair enough thanks for letting me know" and left me to do my business, traffic wardens are human after all.
