just wondering if anyone knows the dimensions of proper scooby vents (real size ones, active) & also how big the ports are which need cutting into the bonnet thanks

just want something which does the job, nothing OTT like F50 or anything, was debating louvres, but the scoob vent will be better getting the air in where i need it i think

think andy hamilton was having a scooby vent done do it was sealed to a airbox with the tb's in it, might be worth a look

i am investiagting this also, but it might spoil my bonnet

the only other way you could get round this is doing what they did in the btcc cav's and turn the head around, so the tb,s are facing forwards, custom manifold needed but think how nice it would look/work

aye but imagine the extra work needed, custom profile cams, need to alter the valves, sort out a custom manifold like you say, talkin mega £££'s

cut out the bulkhead, weld in floorplan of cally turbo & tranverse-mount the 20xe

front engine RWD corsa anyone??

get the angle grinder out then and get started

on topic not sure of the other ways rounf getting lots of air to tb's

i have got an idea but it's a secret, will be done when my tb's go on

i have a few too, but i think the sealed enclosure with a full-size active scoob vent will provide plenty of air

one on the new shape STi looks a fairly decent size one, but I bet it would cost a bit

looks too big imo, like a letter box,

see what andy/miles has had done as they are the ones to talk to regarding tb's i've found

paulw while you have your car in tatters why not try for a transversly mounted engine, would be pretty unique!!

i would imagine it would be pretty fun also!!

I got exactly the same dilemma on my TD.........

i'm gettin the boost reset again soon, and the higher charge temps are gonna need some venting. However, i'm doin the car so subtley that i'm thinking that a scooby (altho will do the job perfectly), will look way OTT

I'm considering cool louvres mounted in reverse to scoop the air down, but i just dont know how effective this will be.

Guy @ cool louvres has suggested gettin the new slim line Vitara vent, which only sits 25mm proud of the bonnet, and looks flush........ This may be the way forward
