steve coogan is the best comedian of the last decade. Peter Kay only been around for a couple of years. Coogan invented partridge about 8-10 years ago now and has had 3 succesful series with him. Also he has shown himself to be versatile - his stand up is hilarious, parole officer was a very good film. I don't think you can compare him to some northern upstart.
