£0 - £1960 = 10%
£1960.01 - £30500 = £22%
£30500.01 - excess = £40%

If you're doing a tax return due end of the month you need to include all your earning for the tax year ended 5th April 2003. Thats salary, overtime, and bonus' as your income.

No sorry, I don't actually work in tax. Im just telling you what I know

You only get taxed on the income over the limits so if you earn £40000 in ONE tax year it will be as follows.

£1920@10% = 192.00
£27980@22% = 6155.60
5485@40% = 2194.00

giving a total of £8541.60 for the year.

The figures incluse your personal allowance as well of £4615
