I went for the 98 model instead of the 99 in the end as the 98 had 56k on and the 99 V had 93k!. Only thing i would say is better about the facelift model is that new alloys, As the Gsi is bodykitted anyway i dont think the differences between facelift and prefacelift are that prominent. If you put a pre face life SRi and a facelift SRi next to each other then the differences are more obvious.

Thats on a T plate? must have the been on of the last of the mk1 GSi`s. What do you think of those rims? That Gsi is nearly identical to what ive just bought dunno wether to buy new rims for it or spend the money on the chassis/engine.

Bigger brakes? beign the 308mm ones? they are 288mm as standard but i cant work out if any of the veccys got the 308mm, Courtenay do them as a big brake conversion.

Just thought I'd offer my views as I own a facelift Gsi 2.6.
Not sure about ST models but the 2.6Gsi is the most common Vectra with 308mm brakes.
These on paper have a lower bhp than a 2.5gsi but more torque making driving "normally" smoother with a nicer power delivery.
As for differences between 2.5 & 2.6 the 2.6 came with standard features like xenon headlights with washers, cruise control, electric passanger seat too, the brakes and off the top of my head I cant think of the others, oops.
IMHO the 2.6 is a great car to drive with a smooth power delivery up to 150mph where it feels stable and smooth (obviously on a private road). Well I hope this makes good reading.
So much for the quick reply post!
