Just found out an HPI check is £37.95! Does anyone know if there is a cheaper way of finding out all the cars history but without loosing the features of an hpi check? Are the AA/RAC ones any good?

experian data check? is that suffficient, will be a gold check, basicall shows you the dettails dvvla havve on their system, anything bout any finance outstandingg on the car (HP- Hire Purchase) and if the car has ever had a plate changge/been stolen/writttenoff

nah, used to work for a car dealership as vehicle administrator, my mate still works there, i get him to do all my checks for me, u2u me details of the car and we can go from there.

Does anyone know how you do it officially? i.e. do you just ring up the hpi people, quote the registration, and give your payment details???
