1.4 16v Corsa B
OR
Saxo VTR

I know I can afford the insurance on both, so thats not really a problem.

Can anyone tell me how they compare? As in 0-60/BHP and what not

Oh, and what models/year did the Corsa come with the 1.4 16v?

Why not a 1.6 16v Corsa? Air con, leccy windows and mirrors, 106bhp.
Surely the same group as the shite Saxo?

1.4 16v Corsa with a new inlet manifold (basically de-restricts the engine) should be on par or faster than a VTR.

You could pick up a 1.4 16v Corsa cheaper than the VTR, spend the £300 or whatever it is for a new less restrictive inlet manifold and sorted.

Plus imo there's more variety with modding corsa's. Easier to turn something curved square, or keep it curved - than it is to turn something thats a bit boxy these days (saxo) into a nice curved thing,

Agree with above bloke

A nice Velos torque tube, good induction kit and 16v roar with decent backbox = lots of fun and about 107bhp.

Lower it 40mm on 16's and it looks quality already.

Then go out and beat a few VTR's

I can't get insured on a 1.6 16v Corsa.

Tbh, I was looking more towards the 1.4 16v. I can see more people getting smaller tuned engines and stripping out the interior.

Oh, and white wheels

I'm no mechanic, but I want to use this as an opportunity to learn.

A nice 1.4 ecotec is perfect to examine for a starter. A shitty french pile of rubbish is not
