I no this is a corsa board, but i know that not every one on here drives a corsa.
Im wanting something a bit bigger than ma corsa b, was considering an astra mk4 1.8 16v, or 306 1.9/2.0 turbo diesel.
Being a vauxhall fan, ive been looking for a mk4 astra, but there fairly expensive, and 3-doors are sooo hard to come by.
whats every1's oppinions on them?
astra 1.8 16v, insurance grp 7(sport) to grp 9(1.8 sri)
306 1.9d-turbo insurance grp 5
2.0 hdi insurance grp 5/6
cheers ppl

get an hdi and chip it, much quicker than the astra, handles better and does more mpg.

I raced a Astra mk4 1.8 SXi from 0-115mph in my 306 D Turbo (early style engine) after it had been tuned, and it was side by side the whole way (give or take me slightly in front from 30-80, and him pulling away at 115+ as my turbo wound down)
The HDis are an excellent engine.
u use something called a "powerstick". It plugs into the ECU (in series), and resets the boost + fuelling, takes it from 90bhp to over 120bhp, and torque dramatically increases from 140lb, up to over 200lb/trq. Cost around £200 fitted.
These are top of range items from Sweden, and as well taking ur 0-60 a few seconds, top speeds of over 120 are possible, and mpg increases too. Very easily removed so wont ruin warrenty etc.
I know the guy who can supply/fit these, so give us a bell if/when u want more info.
U really wanna get an intercooler fitted one of these @ some point so that higher boost can be run, but that can be done at a later date. Looking around £200 for that.
Get onto Peugeotgti.net, anddo a search! loadsa info on em there.

As a summary tho, they are both good looking cars, but 306 handles alot better. Although Peugeot build quality is a let down
But there were quite a few HDis that came with half leather/alacantar (like in the GTi 6), most had air con, traction control, ABS, leccy everything etc...
