Been trying to change my mums gear knob for a good hour this morning and ive had no luck! Its an R reg 1,2LS corsa b. Ive changed my gear knob before, but this is different to mine, the knob was moulded on etc. So, ive hacked the majority of the thing off, now being left with a bit of plastic at the top with an X on the top and it seems to be attatched to the lift up spring?
What do I do from here?
Thanks

managed to get to the stage where there is only the little bit left on the top which needs to be pulled off, but im having very very great difficulty getting it off.
any ideas on which tools are best to use and techniques?
im using pliers at the min, and proving very difficult.
thanks

get a lighter and heat it up a bit, then get some mole grips and twist and pull the fooker off, aint too hard.
