Im going to colour code my spark plug cover thingy only its covered in 5 year old oil and shite, whats the best way to clean it before i rub it down and spray it???

I used engine cleaner the spray on kind it took all the shit off then went over it with thinners and mine looks fine.

coolio....my housem8 says all the paint will come off if it gets hot, cant see it getting that hot tho?????

just sand it down, that'll get rid off all the shite. Normal car spray paint worked fine on mine. Don't think the heat affects it really.

job done, used engine de-greaser then sanded it all down, first coat of plastic primer on aswell
