Tim - The gf wants me to get a lotus elise..... but cant afford the insurance - she thinks now I have been promoted I should get a convertable car - WOMEN!!!!

Looking in the region or 14k-15k if I was to get something new, and insurance no more than 2k......

Seen VX220 2.2 for about that price...

PS.... Im happy with the Corsa, but you know women

keep the corsa you dipshit! if yyour gonna get a roadster get an rx7/8 or a s2000 as tim said!

Dont even contemplate poofy cars like mx5's etc!

If I was going to blow that much money on a car it'd have to be on a Supra or something else Jap...

If she wants a convertible why not look at an S2000 much plusher inside and not quite as 'hairdresser' as the MG...

Yeah but her choice is a lotus elise - the car cant be more than the year 2000 old though - Like I said women....

BTW - was asking about the MG TF for a mate..... the VX220 is the gf's alterantive to a lotus

I'd prolly get a VX220 Turbo over the Elise anyway... look less of a dick and with some tuning you can dick all over the Elise can't you?

bit on the ugly side but theres a yellow 1 wid black wheels near me and they look quite nice in the flesh, if i could afford the turbo id get one, 0-62 in 4.9, thats impreza p1 pace

Defo cant get a S2000 - insurance is like £3500 - No chance a 2.2 VX is only 2k.

Would rather have the turbo but cost loads more than the 2.2

What about a lotus exige. Pick them up 2nd hand for around £16k. Not sure about insurance though
