Right, first, sorry for this essay.....

A few weeks back, our car was hit in a car park, little bit of damage to front wing and front right alloy. Then, our MAF sensor failed on us and a knocking sound started to appear. Next, car was hit again, this time rear bumper damaged, both times it was hit no details were left. Well, we went to PTS today to get MAF problem and knocking sound sorted, only to find the knocking sound is something moving round in the gearbox This basically means, gearbox has to come off (whole days work) and be rebuilt, then put it back on. Its not gonna be cheap at all. Obviously im not best pleased, although PTS have given me a courtesy car free of charge, although it is an M reg Escort.

yeah, looks like i wont get it back for a couple of weeks too, just glad it got spotted when it did or i would have been looking 1500 quid for a new gearbox.

it will be sorted, but now im waving bye bye to the money i had for my hybrid turbo. Im guessing its gonna cost me about 1200 quid to get sorted, its mega labour on the A3, a whole day just to get the damn thing off and a whole day to put it back.

m8 not been ur month by the sounds of things, yeah saving 4 a house is gud idea even though u still need 2 keep the turbo

sorry read the top wrong i though u needed a box for a exscort not a a3
u can still get a box from a specialist scrappy

also what u mean u cant get a g/box for £50 they selll em on migweb al the time and my mate has has 3 in his gsi while he owned it

ah no that would be great if only it was true

im guessing thou a good scrappy will have one for an a3 just a matter of ringing round
gotta be cheaper than a new one
