For those on the board who like me started with a Corsa as their first car and have now owned and driven many different makes of car, do you not agree that the build quality of Corsas leaves much room for improvment?
Corsa C owners are excluded here as those wee cars are well screwed together I think. For example take the top mounts of the front strut. 2 x 8 ro 10mm bolts holding the whole thing in, thats crap!! I dont think Toyota have ever made a car with less then 3 x 12mm bolts.
Im not slagging the Corsa B off here, I loved mine and after all its still basically a 1980's design so its bound to not be up to the standard of modern cars with regards to build quality. Although it must be said it is of superior quality to many newer cars ( no digs at Paxo's, honest )
Has anybody else comments on the build quality of their baby? or similar comments about different motors?

I think the build quality on a corsa b is fine considering the money you pay for them, and far far superior to any french car

I basically found that my brand new Corsa B in 1999 within 50,000 miles turned into a moneypit, everything deteriorated in no time. OEM parts that you never expect to have to replace were giving up the ghost. Mabey Im just hard on cars but the MR2 which now is a 10yr old car is in perfect nick with 115k on the clock. (touch wood!)

Thats what I meant, the engineering behind the car is that of a Nova basically.

corsa B's must be well built if they can handle 200BHP+ with no strenthenin (spelling), my GSI is fine, clios are shocking, they are so plastic, thinks dont fall off the snap and break lol

Clios have to be the worst built small cars. Even my old MK1 Punto was better built.

I cant belive every1 complians about the biuld quality of the C.
In my experience the BQ has been excellent.
Mines 3 yrs old now and doesnt have any rattles or bits of trimm falling off.
Guess they spent more time on the earlier cars

As Cheeky said, their quality is good for what you pay for.
When I took my corsa for general service, I saw a woman talking to a guy about her corsa a 1.4 8v. She said she s had it for 11 years, she ordered it months before it was released, and until now she's had no mechanical problems with it. She loves her corsa. She said she also bought a bmw 316 after the corsa and she keeps havin problems with it.
I saw her engine and everythin and (externally) they were mint, good as new
