Colour coded my engine cover again today, pleased with it i am. Mite put a little sticker or something on it.

yer thats y i'm thinking of sticker or something. It was covered with imbedded coolant before, so had to do something.

that looks cool, think ive got 1 of those badges somewhere....i wana paint my oil cap 2, any ideas what paint to use and what colour if i paint my cover caribic blue??

i just used teh same painting method on my coolant cap, seems to have worked fine. as for colour, fuck knows!

Yours is true rocker cover and can be painted.

The one in this thread is just the plastic engine cover, a rocker cover cover if you will!

How did u get it clean before painting it? Its awkward to clean. I was gonna spray mine but it needs cleaning first or the finish will be pants.

yeh what paint shud i use and assuming thts plastic can u paint n e platic bit of your engine??? talk us thru it boys... (mines the 1.4 8v engine tho so cover is different

clean it with degreaser.

you can use normal bodywork paint, with plastic primer, and normal body work laquer

with my engine cover (above) i just washed it, sanded it down. Primed it several layers. Slightly sanded it. Then left to dry for a few hours before putting on several layers of glacier white spray paint. Let that harden. Then some lacquer, and another coat of paint then more laquer. Theres prob better ways. I'm not one for sanding it down constantly to get a perfect smooth finish. The finish i've got is good enuf 4 me.

just use high build primer to get smooth finnish but dont paint on top of lacuer!
