Finally got mine delivered about a week ago.
Im waiting till i can get in my mates garage to fit them.
In the Instruction papers is says to twist wire connections together and NOT to solder?
Can anyone tell me why this is?
Cheers

soldering may cause some resistance but i cant think for the life of me why it would say that.
They should be soldered. U2U neoquip to see if they are talking shite.

Yeah i will ask Neoquip for some advice.
Im doing a Systems & Network Degree at uni.
Weve done loadsa theory on eletrical and digital electronics.
Twisting them together will cause archin. so thats why i though i should solder them.
But it looked quite serious as the DO NOT SOLDER together was in bold writing too.

maybe they want erm to arc and to keep blowing kits or something but i cant think why on earth it would be so serious, id at least use a butt end or something and crimp it then insulate it

I would say fuck it and solder mate!
• Clean and tin the soldering iron tip often.
• Always tin the parts of the wire that are to be joined.
• Whenever possible, twist the wires together before soldering for a good mechanical connection.
• Do not over tin the wires or apply too much solder to the connection.
• Always insulate your soldered connections to prevent shorting.
• Do not over-heat the solder posts.

is it because if the wire gets hot it can melt the solder and brake the connection?

if its a decent kit the wire shouldnt get HOT! (As long as the guage is right)
And i must say i was chuffed with the Quallity of everything i got in the set.
The wires have a sort of double coating. one is really thick almost plastic then your ordinary seal you get on most wires.
Its a Koolglo USA professional 6 tube kit from the states. Neoquip sells them too i think.

I would twist the wires, solder them together, then insert into a butt end or connector block, then insulate.

I've got the KoolGlo instruction sheet in front of me now.. i see what it says.. but have no idea why they say taht.
maybe its so you can un do them if needed.
i'd lighty twist them together and just put a small amount over then to seal them slighty. then use the insulation tape.. the clear sleave over that and then seal the ends with silicone and insulation tape again
