if the glove box of my car was locked, would you need a warrent to search it?

same withe the boot/trunk of the car

no they can search locked glovebox or car if you are preasent and they caution you

if they have reason to believe you are concealing something then yes they can look in there.

Depends on the situation really, had you been pulled over? Do you have a record?

i've had em look round car, but they couldn't touch or move anything......think they couldn't find a reason to search

If you get out of your car and lock it the police must obtain a search warrent in order to look inside your car.

As far as i know they are only allowed a visual check of your car, if you dont want them to look inside or under the bonnet they cant.

They must have reasonable grounds to do so, which is normally drugs or possibly terrorism these days.

Either way, the registered keeper of the car must consent. Useful if its in the wifes name for tax purposes

It depends or the circumstances when/why they searched, as to what powerws they had. There is no way of answering your question until i know this
