7.8 0-60 for the MG-ZR160, 134 mph.

They are fast for a 1.8 16v.

I had a rover 200 1.4 iS and that shifted for a small engine in a mid size car - K series engines are one of the easiest to mod and easily get power out of - however that said, the new style 25's and ZR's look pants from the front and the Seat Ibiza 20v T is much much better. For the price of an exhaust and induction for the rover (giving a max of about 10-15bhp) you can get a jabba sport chip (or plenty others) that'll increase it by about 40-50bhp and 40-50lbs of torque.
Jabba also do full systems for the VAG turbo engine consiting of induction, replacement turbo, downpipe, i think exhaust, fitting and other bits for about ~£2500 giving you (no sh*t) a 5sec max 0-60 car.
They did a feature on two identical ibiza cupras in performance VW and they had this kit on and uprated brakes and they were running 4.5sec 0-60s!!
Not bad for £10k all in all!!!

I was set on getting a cupra turbo but my GF had a polo and it had the exact same interior that was a bit too small for me and you also cant replace the stereo cause its all fitted into one unit with no DIN option.

Relilablity wise if you're moddin the K Series to get alot out of it they start to pack in really easily especially if you're gonna drive it hard. And if you're getting a 160bhp car - you're gonna aren't ya!!!
Head gasket went on mine after 35k car more or less blew up at 36k!!!
If you like them get a 200Vi and mod that, they look better anyway!!!!

Reliability for the Ibiza is second to none - its a VW, built like a brick sh*t house. (check www.uk-mkivs.net and go to other VAG cars where they have a bit about ibizas or also www.seat-enthusiast.co.uk

Although for the ZR Mynheer do a supercharger for it which sent the 1.4 (103bhp) to 200bhp!!!!!!! imagine what it would do to the 1.8!
