can you tow/pull a car withe a "A" frame towing thing
the ones where no-one needs to drive the towing car, it is attached to the steering arms of the car.

can anyone help?

your allowed one junction but i think thats for if u break down on the motorway

i have towed a car on the motorway on a dolly (sp) before, thats where the front wheels are on the frame and rear are on the road. thats legal for a motorway as long as the tyres that are touching the road are within legal limit

A-frames are only for recovery, so they have to come off the motorway at the next junction and only if doing recovery.

anything else its a low-loader if moving a car a long way

or tow it via A/B roads.

just Rang the police and they said its ok asling as the wieght of the car is evn and safe then you can tow using a A Frame

the AA broke the rules when they towed me for 45mins down m62 and onto the m18 then, or is it different regulations for recovery companies?

i towed a 2 ton BMW home with a 1.4 petrol Escort van on the motorway doing 30 mph all the way home in 3rd gear.
