thing is,my cousin had a coupla corsas a few years ago, each sri/sport with pretty high mileage,he told me that once they hit 80.000 miles they start to go wrong, cams belts go etc. is this true?

i dont wana car thats gona start going wrong on me! so am i best looking at lower mileage cars? is there any problems to worry about when they have high mileage ?

Also the thing to look for is that on high mileage car the interior might be a little tatty depending on the previous owner(s)

8 v SRi goes round the clock several times bullet proof even after abuse the ecotecs however do require some looking after like regular cambelt changes (every 30K or so) and the rest is normal maintainance

mine has just got to 90k and feels like it all going wrong....

my list of bits that seem fcuked:

-gearbox
-suspension
-clutch & release bearing
-piston rings
-steering rack
-head gasket went @ 40k

thing is i have had it serviced, maybe not too often, every 15k probabaly, i do give it some stick tho and drive it down some shitty roads pretending i'm colin Mcrae. is running of three cylinders at the mo and i hope thats the HT leads.

average milage is 12k per year. being N reg, thats 95/96, bout 8 years old, meaning the average should be around 96k!! Ur car has well below average miles luv!

they go on really well if well maintained.

my old one (1.4 16v) had 91K on it and didn't ever give me a days grief, never suffered from that ICV problem, just keep em maintained and it'll last

mines been grief since day one (only just made it back on way home from buying it), have spent the same money now in repair bills as i paided for car, and only had it two years, but as i say i do give it some, need a faster engine really then i can cruise along at speeds i have to put too much effort into at the moment.
