Does anybody know anything about these. Just bought the hubby one, below is the spec:

8XDVD+R, 4XDVD+RW
Internal
4XDVD-R, 2XDVD-RW
12XDVDROM
40X24X40 CD Speeds

Lite-on's are normally very good for reading "copy controlled" CD's

Sounds good... Verbatim make 8x dvd media

Lite-on do make good drives... I've heard they're actually made in the same factory as Plextor?

Only thing I would say is PC World are just a tad expensive? How much was it out of interest?

Yeah it's very good if you're trying to copy "protected" CDs.

I bought half a dozen from CD-Wow and a couple had copy protection... I spent 5 minutes downloading CDEx and it ripped the CD's straight to MP3/Ogg with no complaints I wonder how much money the music industry invested in this technology
