Who all owns one of the above?
Any hints or tips about buying one? Also any pics of the engine, interior anything will be appreciated. I might be going to look at one this weekend but I've never had a close look at one before. I need to know what's standard and what options are available etc. I need to get clued up as I don't wanna buy it and then find out it's actuallly a 1.2 merit with a body kit I've bought
any info much appreciated

One things for sure, for a 1.8 with 125 bhp they are SLOW.
Ok they aren't slow in general just for what they are.
I know a kid who had one and traded it in for an MG 160 thing.
Was loads quicker and the interior was better screwed together.
My Corsa C the stereo isnt' bad but turn it up and all the panels resonate, pointless even having a stereo, it doesnt even need to be loud and allthe rear panels and roof shake.
The steering wheel stitching all comes undone. Apart from that not too bad. I know someone with a Citroen C3 that piece of shit just literally fell to bits.

For the price a dealer would rip you off for a Corsa C, I just been looking in the trader, and also private, you can get a Y reg Skoda Octavia Turbo RS and a Rover MG ZS the one based on the 45 with the v6 for cheaper.
If you really wanna chuck that much cash at a std Corsa then go for it.

Excellent car with a massive potential for tuning, Regal do a kit that will hike the power from 125bhp to 170bhp for a little over £2,000.
Get some coilovers on it, leave the exterior standard especially on the new face lift SRi with the 16 inch 5 spokes and fully coded bodywork.
0-60 in 8.0 seconds flat as standard which for a standard 1.8 16v with 125bhp is actually really good considering that the Clio 182 is 182bhp and only does 0-60 in 7.0 flat.
0-100 the Clio is quicker but hey, its French and won't last as long as the Vauxhall

On paper 1 second may not sound much, 0-70, 0-80, 0-90 and in gear the 172 is loads faster and a full 5 or 6 secs faster to the ton which is a massive gap.

had a play with one on the a127 a few weeks ago they are quick quick kinda put a new spin on my opinion of them. comming off a roundabout it was close in 2-3rd gear then i left it for dead
But considering how much they weigh and the fact they are fully loaded 8 secs to 60 is not bad IMO
i persoanlly wouldnt get one as mention above Ibiza cupra and clio would be a better buy but its all down the personal taste

6k that would be an earlier one which looks like the 1.2 sxi from the last few years, 15" wheels etc. The 16" wheels on the 52 plate onwards had checked interior and the different front grille.
So for 6k you better save up or wait till the later models come down in price. Or look at Astra Sri's.

the stupid thing is if they had the gatarac gearbox in they would rape anythin equivalant. its simply the gearing. take the box from the astra 1800 and your laughin!!!

id say it was the relatively crap power output, shoddy handling, and the weight that inhibits it
doubt itd rape anything equivalent, my dads astra coupe had same engine and it just wasnt lively at all
like i said ive races 2 of these and beat both with ease
better cars out there with much more potential for same ££

cuz in the coupe it uses different software. the z18xe in the c uses a different software on the injection. the new ones are available with f17 box in and 5stud wheels. with the right gearing in they will fly. and as for poor handling-modify it and sort it
