right am thinking of getting a front wing from a scrappy and venting it myself

but need help with the following

do i use a jigsaw or angle grinder to cut the holes out

and i will be putting mesh on the back of it...what should i use to attach the mesh? fibreglass? bodyfiller? tigerseal?

this is wot am thinking of doing

Use a nibbler or drill a hole and use a jigsaw. Then file it really neat.

Fibreglass is the way forward on the mesh aswell!

cheers mate just needed to no wot to get at halfords on monday wen i go get the stuff got a jigsaw a drill and a metal file(Y)

can use tigerseal also for mesh

drill 2 holes, and then cut out the middle bit too make a slot.

Would that cause any rusting or would a bit of grease be enough?

i would go with transpoter style m8,euro style looks good though. I am also going to do this one day. whats a good price for 2 wings from a scrappy?

dont use a jigsaw you will make a mess of it cutting something that small, jigsaws vibrate and dent the panel.

use something like a cutter grinder that dont vibrate

cutter grinder? is that with a metal cutting disc on a angle grinder...but going carefully?

Wings should cost about £25

Am I right?

www.tuning.co.uk sell body repair standard wings (not genuine vaux but used for accident repair apparently.

best bet's a scrappy - must be loads in there.

I want to put a merc sprinter van wing vent in mine but can't find a scrappy that has any and not going to fork out about 90quid for a new wing just to cut it up

I got that price from merc itself, explains why its so expensive. All i need is one that is damaged, preferably not near the vent, then just cut it out n weld it in and then fill. Just need to find one now
