i understand vectra speaker sizes, but my girlfriend has just bought a corsa b,its got standard speakers in the front and non in the rear, what size speakers will it have in the front door cards?
Is it just easier to put a set of 6x9's in the rear shelf than trying to fit speakers in the original rear spacers?
cheers for any help.

dont bother with trying to replace the rear speakers mate, just disconnect them and get a sub for the rear. Or, some 6x9s depending on what you're after.
As for the front, Halfords sell Autoleads adapters which allow you to have larger speakers in the front. Got some nice Infinity 13cm speakers in mine at the moment
Hope this helps

you will have problems with some 17cm speakers with adaptors depending on their mounting depth, i would go with some 5 1/4 inch (13cm) components up front and either stick some 6 x 9 's on the parcel shelf or get a sub in the boot but not both.

Everyone keeps saying "get some phat 17cm (6.5") comps and wack them in", but they keep forgetting that majority of 17cm comps won't fit due to either the magnet not going through the holes in teh door, or the depth is too big and therefore the magnet rests in the window tracks Obviously, if youe building your own door pods then get what ever you want
But i would recommend some infinity 5000cs (13cm) comps. They just fit (with a few mm all round to spare) and they sound great Although, if you do get these then i would connect the tweeter to the -3dB on the crossover and also leave out the screws (two of them) at the end of the door pocket (speaker end) as this will stop the door pocket grill resting/pressing on the woofers rubber sill
