Opinions wanted. Head gasket has probably gone, but how much would this cost to fix seeing as the whole thing is coming out anyway?

beardy has an astra that he said i can have for £700 (he's doing my conversion in less than 2 weeks) but im just seeing if there's any way i can do it cheaper cos i got no money! Do the cavs have all the parts that the astras have? Or would it need different drive shafts etc? I think beardy said he could use the ones off the astra, unless he meant he was going to shorten those ones too.

Also, would a "1990VAUXHALL CAVALIER 2.0 GLi, 1990," have the C20XE engine? I rang the guy and he said it was the 2.0 16v version, but is there a different 2.0 16v to the red top?

It is only the sport versions of cars that have the red top engine, this has a cosworth head on it. The Cavalier 2.0 GLi has an Ecotec head which is less powerful. I think i'm right, and I hope this helps ya.

GLi should be an 8valve unless its been converted.
The one you posted I would expect to have the ecotec engine in it!
