new car for my gf. Seen a 1.5 diesel, 5 door, blue, bodykit, alloys, induction kit. 71,000 miles on an M plate for £1300 in a garage. I test drove it and it felt slow and lumpy. But i'm guessing thats how all diesels drive. Gonna go and have a good look over it tomorrow and take it for a longer test drive. What known faults are there with the diesels and what should i be looking out for? Any help would be much appreciated.

Also what is the perfromance like on these? its just the plain diesel not the turbo diesel.

yer i'm know the TD is alot better. But we've seen this car and its reasonably priced and in good condition and looks good with the bodykit, not my style but the gf loves it. I'm guessing this 1.5 diesel is slow - but how slow? And any points to look out for etc. would be much appreciated.

At that mileage the alternator is about to go, that costs £100+ to replace as the vacum pump hides in there too.

Nooooo mate don't buy a 1.5 diesel...one of the worst corsa's to buy! If she like's corsa's and doesn't want anything too quick then get a second-hand 1.2 SXI 16v...but I guess she has a budget!?

as for reliability, those engines last forever, however its been kitted up so its probably safe to assume the car has been rageed to death.

5dr + Bodykit + NA Diesel =

£1500 will get her a tidy SRi 8v.

U think she loves that car.....wait till she drives one of these......great engines. She's forget bout all that stick on plastic then!

60 in 11-12sec. 100+mph. Nippy (for a girl)

And the black ones look very smart. Not bad on insurance either.

Matt
