ok, figure this one out.
Car is not running correctly under boost. Its running lean. Im pretty sure it needs a 5th injector.
whats the best way of installing this.

The best way is to stop thinking about 5th injectors, and to get bigger injectors. Are you still using the 1.4 ones? What fuel pressure?

XE injectors are good for 230bhp on an na engine. So slightly less on a turbo. What boost are you running?

nah, no need as im sure the pump on the corsa will be enough.
Its running 10 psi.

no, i dont think the 8v pumps run that high pressure?? you have to change em on the 8v if you do an engine conversion....

should have plenty of scope through the injectors then. Could be the fuel pump....
Check the fuel pressure without the vacuum pipe connected.

its has the FSE.
But nothing under boost. Im not driving it because of this problem. Its in the workshop till i can figure out whats up.
I had this from the old engine. I still have it. Looks like a pressure switch but i dunno what its controlling.
this is a pic of the engine from the original car.

To answer your question though, the 5th injector would have to go centrally in the inlet manifold.
The FSE will add more fuel as the boost rises, but you need a lower air fuel ratio under boost, so it will still need more. If the 5th injector came on under boost only then that would do that, but is still a hack.

I don't know if you have tried this but check you sensors because they might be causing you to run lean

lol, nah its no sensors mate.
The car on boost aint producing the fuel. Its still on stock ECU so its not mapped for producing fuel under boost.
Ive found out a hack way ofdoing it. A low presure switch controlling a 5th injector.

yes, figured that bit out. But i dont have a spare 1300 quid for a DTA system.
Not yet anyways. Found a way around it for a while. It will be over fuelling but id rather that than run lean.
It will only be for 3 months till i can save enough cash for it.
Im not gonna be ragging it down quarter miles etc.

Either more fuel pressure, bigger injectors or a 5th injector.
If ur goin the 5th injector route then get it sorted to only come on when on boost.
Needs mapping really though.

The whole point is that it isn't fueling more under boost, so bigger injectors or fuel pressure wont help, it would just run lean everywhere.
£1300 for DTA?
£550 for an ecu, £100 - £150 odd for a loom, £350 absolute tops for a map. Or are you going for the PRO?

was planning the pro buddy.
I just said about £1300 of fthe top of my head.
Yeah, i see what your trying to say wolfy but you will need the ecu to be mapped before bigger injectors. Like milessays it will run lean everywhere.
I have that micro switch just now. That will see me ok until i have saved enough.
Basically it plugs onto a vacum and senses boost, triggers a switch inside that will kick in the 5th injector. Which is a cold start injector from a saab.
Not plumbed it in yet. Where would you suggest the best place for it to sit.
