My mates a lucky b@stard and owns a 2.0 hyundai coupe, its the first series, t reg i think, its totally standard engine wise, if i had a 2.0 16v put in my corsa would he still whoop my arse between 0-60 and top speed? What would i need to put him in my rear view mirror?

Yeah thats the brand new ones though, hes got a first series 2.0, its quick off the mark but top end its not that clever

theres a few nice modded ones around my way.

my tastes only but i think a really offensive rear wing that would look stupid on any other car seems to really suit these.

In that case a 2.0 16v in your corsa really should take him... Never come across one personally so couldn't confirm that though...

1.6 16v Engine with TBs / Skimmed heads / Ported+Polished etc should be able to whoop him.

agredd 100% i just want a car that will do 80MPH quickly and from what i read a redtop'ed corsa is excellent for this.

i hope you people arnt lying about how good it is

the early 2.0 coupes were swift. 8.1s on paper, 7.5ish in reality. Dad's mate had a black one.....but my bro still whooped him in his 2.0 nova

a standard valver corsa should beat one in a straight line, but you wont out handle it.

Straight line is good enough for me! Cheers guys, im well chuffed about that cos he always says i could do anything to my corsa and it still wouldnt beat him, just got to save for the conversion now, and insurance come to think of it
