its come to my attention that you can not only get a 1.416v sport but also a few 1.4 16v sri's to, i only thought all sri's were 8v. are there any differences in the 1.4 16v sport and the 16v sri's engines?

but you don't get all the electrics on the sri that you get on the sport.

Not always...
My SRi 16v has ABS, Power Steering, Electric Windows/ mirrors etc.. everything a sport has. Only option im missing is Air Con, but thats not standard on 1.4 sports anyway

true, but they're not standard options, yours is very well equiped though 
the only electrics i had on my old Sri 16v was the fan.

ABS and PAS are extras on the pre 97 sport as well.
Only the e/w e/m and sunroof become standard oh and the colour coded bumpers!

Maybe i was just lucky then, when i bought mine i had no idea they had 16v engines or ABS etc... so was well surprised.
Didnt even realise it was a 16v till after a few weeks lol

the 8valves have central locking.
The sport has the same interior trim as the sri's? if not theyre very similar..
The early sri's were 8valve then they changed them to 16valvers then they changed to sport.
the sport had colour coded bumpers and sideskirts too

my sport aint got side skirts, 98 'R'. got everything else tho bar abs
