how is this done, do they just cut off the lock and weld in a plate??
is it a long winding job?
anyone know?

yesh remove lock etc...then weld in a plate/lead fill and skim over with filler/fibreglass and spray

no need too cut the lock offf it unbolts, they weld a plat in the recess and put a thin layer of fille ron top, orrrr u can buy a panel bond it on and its done well needs spraying (obv)
u will need a boot pop kit tho

is the boot pop kit the one to open up the boot with a button??? if so cant u get that put in at a later stage???
and i got quoted £200 to get my boot flushed, surely it should be cheaper than that, sounds like an easy straight forward job

£200 sounds a good price mate - especilly if that includes fitting the boot pop solenoid - The bodyshop I use charges £350 - but tht includes reloctuing a plate recess into the rear bumper and the solenoid etc
The panels are only £50 - but still need spraying and smoothing in at the edges so will cost about the same

I paid £440ish to have my boot smoothed thats a bloody good price, although mine included taking the number plate light out the bumper too

please tell me you are having a laugh, it is £8 worth of parts and a 20 minute job, hell if people pay that much ill do it for a living.

when i had my alarm fitted it was £30 to have the boot solenoid done and sextons were trying to charge about £150 i think :s
