keeps comin on when i slow down from a high speed and sometimes when accelerating quickly.....and car feels a bit juddery....i thought that the revs were too low at idle, its sittin at 650-700 mark, sum1 sed EGR valve, is this correct and how do i sort it, cos i know on vectras u can blank em off cos they do jack all, is it the same on a corsa???

do the paperclip test and yesh you can just blank the egr off, is your idle dodgy aswell??

just read thread again, sounds to me like the same problem i have - idle control valve

yea it sounds like its dippin a lot and bout to stall, how do i do paperclip test and were at??

Def sounds like ICV to me tho, give me a couple of days to do mine and ill let you know how to find it etc

tell u what, this was happening to me have cleaned it twice now and it lasts for a certain amount of time, but then it gradually comes back, thinking i might need a new ICV. either that or it is something else as i still have the problem, just not as bad. the light only stays on for a few seconds and so it doesnt register it as a fault!

nah flamered you're right, cleaning is only a temporary measure but new ICVs are around 70 notes so ill give mine a blast with carb cleaner me thinks

not really mate as 99.9999999% of corsas suffer with this so chances are 2nd hand one wouldnt last long anyway

at the end of the day if u go blanking the egr valve off,its gonna knacker up ur fuel economy (mpg),ive had mine replaced twice at coss vaux now and their starting to piss me off
