I know its probably been asked before but am in need of help how much work is involved with converting a 96 1.2 8v to a 1.6 16v...

Is it a straight swap of lump and ecu or more difficult?

Mods required?

What do i need from the old car?

Would it be an easier swap from a corsa gsi?

ta it maybe obvious to some of ya but im a northerner who knows nowt bout engine swaps

You will need quite a lot from the old car. Not sure about engine mounts, but will need, ecu, loom, driveshafts, gearbox, engine with inlet/outlet manifolds and probably the exhaust system. The crucial thing is the transponder, get the chip out of the donor cars fob. Bigger suspension, and brakes can be added later.
