Ive had a visa electron for since i was 15 and have had regular money each month going into it till now. I am now 18 and i want a visa debit card so i can shop online etc. Asked my bank they said they will let me know.
Had a letter saying i cant have one bla bla bla credit rating bla bla (and i have never borrowed money in my life)
Does anyone else my age have a problem getting a visa debit card? What do you lot use?

yea, my mate had this problem, said barclays wouldnt because of credit rating etc and he moved to HSBC and got a debit visa card and credit card.
However, i applied for one at my little local branch and was accpeted and i have money going in about once every 6 months i think i must have been lucky, although you will find they check up on your fokes too on credit ratings etc
Edit: im 18 too mate

Each house has a credit rating so depends how your parents credit is aswell. Is what my ol man said anyway!!
Ive got a solo debit card with hsbc, whats the difference between that and a visa? The visa inc. an overdraft?

you have to watch hsbc, they chuck money at you and then charge the fuck out of you when you have problems. One nasty bank If you want a visa try Capital One, great rates
