tbh, for £8k you could get a lot more car.

For £8k, you will get very bored of the gutless 1.8 4 pot engine in the BMW.

Im not gonna say what u should get, its your money, but i hate mercs, and thts just another E36 bmw on the road, and a gutless one. Even GSi's would have fun eating it up.

I picked the BMW out of them but I wouldnt buy a 4cylinder BMW myself

But they're 1.9 16v now not that it makes any odds.

I'd be going for ITR easily for the money (my examples above were for build quality ) and you don't see them falling to bits

I would deff say the beemer; i went to look a a merc like that the other week and was will bland inside and the manual gearbox on it was crap. The BMW looks better and is a much better drive. Thats why i shall be getting another one soon
