I've read that to reset the ECU you have to disconnect the battery.
By disconnecting fuses 30 and 46 (engine control modules), am I resetting the ECU? If not, what will happen?

no resetting ecu's isnt possible-no matter what anyone says. theyre called EEPROM ecus which is means Electronic Erasable Program Read Only Memory. they can be reset only at the Vauxhall returns TAC centre.
thats what bubblevaux told me anyway

So what will happen if the fuses are removed?

You can reset the LEARNT VALES for various sensors in the engine thus 'resetting' the ecu.
With reset values the ecu can calibrate faster as it will not have incorrect old values to confuse it.
I have that information from a mate who works for ford in the research and development dept.
