You realise you're breaking the speed limit when you're doing 43 in a 30.

they have to stop you,
there is one way you can get out of it, if you ask them to send the gun off to be checked to make sure its working correctly, even if they say there is a sticker saying its in good condition it may not be..
it takes approx 3 -4 days to get the results, by that time they have to drop it..

i can't believe these sort of comments still come out.
i bet 90% of the people on here don't do 30 in a 30 limit, specially if its a road which is wider and safer to go faster on then say round a school.
My road outside my house is supposed to be 30, virtyally everyone does 45+ i've never seen a car ( or even a BUS ) traveling at 30 and thats with me behind them.
every1 speeds FFS, he ain't a stupid bastard he's jsut unlucky

actually i disagree, doing over 40 in a 30 really is a stupid thing to do in most cases. That 30 is there for a reason, be it a built up area, town centre or schools etc etc. I have been caught speeding twice now, got let off because i was doing less than 40 in a 30, but i realise my mistake. It annoys me when people take this cavalier attitude towards speeding, especially when a young boy was killed crossing a road outside a school by a speeding car. If you want to speed, go to an open road with national speed limit or better still, a track day.

sinth, indeed i have listened to myself. I believe i am more aware of the speed im doing in the area im doing it. It was over a year ago i was caught now and i never do more than 35 in a 30, same goes for 40 and 50 zones. On the motorway, i stick to about 60 because i am currently driving a heap and dont want to push it too much.

I think mabey if you read his post he says he has realised his mistake and takes it easy.
Personally when im in a 30, i do around 35, same with 40's id do around 45, but i do speed in national speed limits if i know the road!!

I know a guy who worked as a road traffic officer, apprently (not sure if sitll the case) EVERYTIME a speed gun is taken out, it has to be "configured" they point it at a target and it does its thing - and 90% of the time this does not get done, so you ask the officer "has that gun been configured" a little luck hes says no, and he can only give you a ticking off!
