edtrix, what year was your GSi registered? If it was the X16XE engine, 4bhp from a decat is pretty good

my Gsi C16XE has got a pipercross viper induction kit, splitfire ignition leads, ngk spark plugs and a scorpion CAT back Group A exaust system so far....
not sure what the BHP is? any ideas or guesses?
so not much diffrence when the CAT is taken out then! what about if the silencer is taken out?

yeh cheers,
i thought about 115ish BHP too, however its not too healthy!
its done about 80k miles and even though i take really good care of it and maintain it, in the last year it has developed a big oil consumtion problem!!
could be due to fact it had 4 previous owners! who didnt take care/maintain it very well!
could be anything! piston rings, pistons, valve seals....
not gonna bother spending £££s repairing it, gonna wait another year n save up for a XE red top 150BHP as standard!

yeh the Gsi in 1993-1994 was C16XE 109BHP
but ive heard a very few Gsi's came out later , of which had the X16XE, that must be the one you have.
the GSi engines are great but they had a common oil consumtion problem which is starting to show in most of them now as it is a 10 year old car now
"Edtrix_GSI16V" when did you get your rebuild done mate? how many miles has it done?
you could of got another 1.6 16v in better condition with lower milege put in for less than the rebuilt cost you! or if you saved up a bit more a 2litre conversion done

monkey thats right, in 1995, right up until GSi production stopped, it had the X16XE ecotec engine which is found in the Sport 1.6's. The oil consumption problem is probably due to the age of the engine, with worn piston rings, seals like you said.
Edtrix, you have the X16XE engine which is 106bhp standard.
