The new rockford fostage subs , there called punch i know they have been out a while but a new model was realeased a few months ago, was thinking of getting 2 of them in a sealed box, cause they would be perfect for my amp, i think,
http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=3063
^^ the subs 200 w rms @ 4 ohms x 2 = 2 ohm i think which would be perfect ?
http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=2008&tab=2
^^ the amp 400 w rms @ 2ohm
will i get distortion from this with high volume ?
cheers Rob

Yer 2 of those Rockford subs wil b fine to giv u a 2 ohm load to the amp as their single voice coil.
If u could find the extra for the dual voice coil versions u could run them in parallel and show a 1 ohm load to the amp as it is stable at that.
Depends on ya budget, personally if ya can stretch to the higher power handling subs i would do.

Quite a tough budget. I guess what ya suggested is bout the limit for that.
The new Rockford stuff does look nice i wil give u that but a mate of mine has them and i hav to JL W3's.
Dont get me wrong the RF's sound nice but no where near the hit or volume of my 2. Suppose u would b lookin at £400 ish for 2 W3's in a box.
Its all personnal preference at the end of the day mate. The RF's wil be nice but u dont want to be used to them in a couple of months and wish u had bought some that could hav taken more power.

by the looks of things my amp would be underpowered with 2 of them, i think the rockfords are perfect , i just hope they will be loud, either that or maybe a 15" JL ?, but i think i will most likely stick with the rockie's,

lol. Well i would lik to think the W3's giv u a bit of both.
Lik i said tho it is personnal choice.
I mean for example i used 2 hav a 12" Alpine Type R. When i got my JL W3 (now got 2) i thought it was so much beta in everyway than the Alpine.
However AdiSRI prefers the sound of his old Type R over his W3, (im sure i remember him writing that in a post, lol).
Suppose it comes down to what u listen 2 and how u lik it 2 sound!!

The amp uve got or thinking of getting is a monoblock capable of 500rms at 1ohm isnt it?
If so that means 2 JL W3 Dual 4 ohm voicecoils could be wired to the amp giving a 1 ohm load.
That means up2 500rms to each sub if u want. They r rated at 300rms!!

huh ?i was adding it together, 2 JL's i was thinking would be 600 w rms as one is 300 w rms !! doesnt it work like that :s ??
if not then i can get alot more powerful subs than i first thought

The power uve got can be given to each sub. All uve got to remember is depending on the amount of subs u add and the voicecoils they have will determine at what ya amp wil run. EG. 1ohm, 2 ohms, 4 ohms etc

ok, adi has taught me about all the ohm things lol,
so if i had 2 of those rockford fostage subs @ 200 w rms , it wouldnt make 400 w rms it would still be 200 w rms i thought u added it together , but thats cool, whats the cheapest place to get JL stuff ?

i heard this when i posted on general chat, your install is looking wicked andy btw, would i run the risk of blowing the subs running them @ 400 w rms when there only 200 w rms ??

Yer i agree there wil tak more power than there rated at.
By no means sayin the RF's u were lookin at were bad subs just no the JL's are louder thats all.
Plus as i said dualvoice coil means u can take advantage of the amp bein 1 ohm stable.
to run at 1 ohm u need the Dual 4 ohm voicecoils version
