Its currently sprayed, but needs to be resprayed coz the finish aint all that......
However, i wanna make sure its done proper this time by doing the prep myself
Whats the best way of gettin a bonnet back to primer? Should i use a sander? Or will this leave flat areas?? What grit paper?

who's spraying it for you? if its a bodyshop surely they would do it?!

You don't need to take it to primer to ensure a good spray job, just rub it down until its perfectly smooth, you will see when its smooth because pitted areas in the paint will remain shiny, and areas which have been flatted will go dull.

Yeah, its a bodyshop.....but they are sorting me a deal if i take it back to primer, nice and smooth, ready for them just to flash over 
Got some time on my hands, and like i said, i want to make sure its 100%. Like last time they sprayed it, it was rushed

The guys at the bodyshop cocked up last time, big style.....and I WAS TOLD that, the primer "Reacted" with the paint, and so i've got bubbling and all sorts of crap going on over the bonnet. He's told me it needs to be taken right down to the primer, if not, the metal.
I'm not sure, so i'm just gonna do it!
Does any know if Bodyshops can spray alrite onto Halfords Aerosol Primer??

as far is i know any primer is ok as long as its smooth.

isnt halfords primer cellulose based, if so i think this reacts with 2pac paint so check just to be sure, i thought you could get a stopper that sprays on to the primer to stop the paint reacting

hmm i think i'll have to fone em and ask to make sure!!
The ysaid i should use a zinc primer i think?? is this the same sorta thing?

2K paint doesn't usually react with anything. To be fair i'd get the bodyshop to do it, they made the cock up so they can sort it out. If you were my customer i wouldn't be getting you to rub your bonnet down.

Fair douz, but i'll prob do it for my own piece of mind matey....its not all stuck up and harsh as i sound.....they spray well for cheap (for me) so i help me out.....
Is there a primer i could buy that wont react?? A 2-pac primer? summat that a bodyshop would use?

A bodyshop would use a 2k primer, but you wont be able to spray that as you need a gun and compressor. TBH i have sprayed 2k paint over halfords primer for people before and not had a problem

So you reckon, i should be able to get away without having to go back to primer? I can just go over the old primer with Halfords stuff (once smooth), and get them to flash over that?

As long as its smooth you should be fine, but if a reaction has happened you can't be too sure, i'd have to see it before i gave any certain opinions yet

That would be included in the price, as its prep work, and without the proper prep work it wont be a proper job
