2.6GHz from an Athlon-XP 2600+ Mobile... Not bad for a days work Plus its still being air-cooled, no watercooling/peltiers installed as yet!
See if you can beat the Win-RAR benchmark I did aswell (P4's probably will ), but you need winrar 3 to do it!
Fekin chuffed with this system now!

just played with memory timings/fsb/multi to get it as it is...
VisibleMan: aye its a mobile chip, its probs me your remembering about I posted aaaages ago when I was getting all the bits together! I got CPU, RAM & MB now, just testing it all in the case downstairs as I'm still making the case for it all! Standard clock of the 2600+ is about 2.05 i think, well, its what it runs at with everything set to auto in the BIOS...
I'll get a pic of the insides as they are now in a lil while.

Current testing rig, basically just to bring the thing within an inch of its life!
1800ed - try this... http://www.gamepc.com/labs/view_content.asp?id=p4oc&page=1&cookie%5Ftest=1
Adam - I remember the old comps, I set fire to an old K6-2 500 once But I did have no heatsink or fan & was trying to fry an egg

yea mine isnt much faster than yours at standard rates:
might have a look into pushing the chip abit further, i know its good for about 2.3 gigs, but i believe you can push them further than this
Although 2.6 gigs outta a 2600 is fooking fast although the mobiles are better at O/C'ing.

plus the mobiles aren't multiplier-locked like regular XP chips mind if yours is a pre 39week '03 chip you 'should' be ok! (you'll need to look at the chip stepping to find out!)

Ahhhh jumpers!!
Only jumper I use on this board is to reset the BIOS if I clock it too high & it doesn't post
Think my first ever PC had about 30 jumpers on it! was only a P200 aswell!

You computer looks ! I got mine a bit like that, but at the moment the side is off, one HDD is out of action and i lost the cold cathode tube! I used to be into computers a lot mroe than i am now cos i spend all the ££ on my car instead. 2600+ at the moment, might do an upgrade in the next few months.

My XP2600+ runs at 2083MHz standard, so a jump up to 2592MHz is pretty impressive, Paul!
Not really looked into 'clocking mine yet, but at least I know how high I can look into stepping it up to!

Dan B - 2nd 5 1/4 bay is the Front-X panel (came with the mobo, 2xusb, 1xfirewire, headphone, mic, and 4 diag led's)
transca - there to keep the northbridge cool while I was pushing it, brought the temps right down tho!

Mine slows down when there's a lot on screen during some games......still trying to work out where the bottle-neck is, but I'm guessing the video-card:
1Gb DDR400 RAM
XP2600+ running at 2083MHz
128Mb GeForce4 Ti4600 (running at 321/680)
On shopping list: four 160Gb S-ATA drives (one for main machine, three for file-server when it eventually gets all these bits put together) and a 256Mb FX5950.
