did you feed it beer? That works with slugs, but not sure about worms. On second thoughts, dont pour beer in your PC.

fixd it now cheers tho m8, dad took it to a pc repair place when i was at work, charged him a tenner for fck all

deleted the one strain, was ok, 2 secs later sasser strain D gets in, pc repair place didnt even notice it stupid fckers

good firewall is best defence against these types of virus...
windows update is too slow & still wont prevent infection...

ye update has got to be the worst piece of shite ever, you cant use windows update with this worm cos it prevents you from going onto windows update

Think the virus has gone now BUT i can never get onto the net cos it wont connect when it does it just cuts straight out again... any ideas ?

connect for about a minute and shuts off, the link above seemed to sort it, deleted the worm from the registry and wala im here

mine done that but i think the virus has now gone as i done some thing to cure it BUT the net wotn connect... it trys then fails then trys and fails... if im lucky (like now it connects and im here for a min or 2)

i downloaded the thing and it didnt totally get rid of it, go dwn 2ward the bottom and it shows u how to do it manually

Yes it does prevent infection... Microsoft relesased the fix for the vunerability 3 weeks ago. Windows update isn't that slow... I installed a fresh copy of XP the other day... it needed about 25megs of critical updates, which even for a 56k user is too much.
