I'd have a Type R over any Corsa yeah, just because you can build a fast Corsa doesnt mean it aint still a fuckin Corsa !
Civic is a bit slab sided, but its the trend, look at the C3 looks like a little Previa.

Mate fitted a VTEC controller to his Integra said it was shite,
On the dyno, there was no improvements in bhp at any of the lower rpms. Road driving was the same, no improvement .The secondary intake runners don't open until 4800-5000 anyways. In a turbo or supercharged set up, lowering the VTEC might help, but then you have appreciable gains in torque at low rp anyway.

got a m8 with an ITR with v-tec controller, absolutely swears by it

VTEC controllers do work... fueling and ignition needs to be altered to suit. Just changing the engagement point on it's own is a waste of time.
