got a quote today to have this conversion done and was amazed at how low he offered me it for... to take in my 1.2 8v and drive away a 1.6 16v he was gonna charge £300 supplied and fitted... gonna get it done when i get paid this month..

also enquired about 2.0l turbo as his price was so low on 1.6 and this was the usual 1.5k price...just gonna stick with the 1.6 and tune the balls off it over time...

just cos its cheap dont mean theres something wrong..

im 18, no no claims, and from a 1.2 8v, to a 1.416v insurance goes up by £61!

i paid 250 for engine, gbox etc etc

you would struggle to get a LET for 1.5 k, your looking at £3k to supply and fitt it usually. i wouldnt get the 1.6 doen there purley because it so cheap. would want to ask why it was so cheap

go for it for £300 and see what it's like - for £300 you can't really go wrong.

Perhaps its just a special discount for you. or maybe he meant - you supply everything and he'll fit it for £300 - I think you need a fitting kit as well don't you? so thats a load too...

you wont need a fitting kit to fit a 1.6 cos you can get the parts out of other 1.6 corsa's

you need to change petrol tank and lines (i think) or it mite just be the end of the lines (kinda a different conection), engine, dont know about mounts, think you mite need a bodywork one, brakes, zorst... think thats it, all of which should come from the other car
