My GSi engine is up for grabs.
Never let me down in the 5 years I've had it
Last week had :
New HT leads
New spark plugs
New timing kit
New fan belt
Did the oil changes myself on a regular basis
Als included in the sale is the superchip. Fitted and mapped at Well Lane Turbo Centre
£850 ovno
Engine coming out on Monday so if you can get to Sheffield that day (or Saturday when I drop the car off) you can hear it running.

The milage is probably the most important thing really!
I'd say £300-400 is probably a more realistic asking price. I'm looking for a 1.6, but its got to be less than 40k miles.

Thats the price that was suggested to me to put it up at because the superchip comes with it.
There is obviously room for negotiation on the price.
If you want it without the chip then the price will go down and I can sell that separate
u2u if you want.

As said above, its the price I was advised to put it up for, giving me scope to come down.
If you'd bothered to read the thread properly, you would have noticed that

The milage is above average at 100,000, but as stated, its never let me down and has been looked after and not abused

100,000 mile mileage and your asking £850!!!
superchips are what £250-£300 ?
so your paying £600 for a 100k mileage?
2.0 16v's with 80'ish k mileage go for a lot less than that (£200's) - and thats for 150 bhp!
no offence but that is sheer madness to expect £850 for a 100k mileage engine

I will take that onboard chuck, but like I said, I didnt put the price tag on it, I'm just going on what I've been told.
If its too much then fine I'll come down, but dont kep giving me jip over it.
Im only going on what I've been told cause wouldnt have a clue myself.

ok chuck, sorry
I honestly don't know what superchips are worth - I thought they were the cheaper ones with set mapping...
Perhaps if you told people what power the engine was running at you'd have more luck.
All I know is I think jr bought Matt_C's 136 bhp 1.4 16v which had a inlet, engine management system, and many other stuff and was only around 40k mileage for think it was £450 or something stupidly low.
Just gotta remember the engine might be fine now for you, but 100k is quite high-ish and for it to go wrong soon could = expensive for the person who buys it considering they spent £850.
Sorry though - you have a wicked car - shouldn't of been so harsh about the price.

Tiz ok mate no offence taken.
The last rolling road test came out at 130bhp. Thats with only a powerflow zorst from cat back, air filter and superchip.
109bhp as standard so its the better of the two GSi engines.
I'll double check the price new for the chip, but I do know it was £200+ when I got it.
Might be more cost effective for me selling them separate anyways.
I'll ask again about the price tomorrow, but at least I know there's some interest shown.
Its just making it right for every one concerned int it
Ta anyways mate.

I suggest listing the engine with the fact its a proven 130 bhp when you try to sell it
