In a recent press conference, Bill Gates made a comment that if General motors had kept up with technology, we would all now be driving £25.00 cars that would do 1000 mpg.
To this, GM replied with the following statement :
If Microsoft were making cars, there would be a few subtle changes in the way we drive :
1. Whilst driving down the motorway, your car may inadvertently stop responding, you would have to pull to one side, close all the windows and restart the engine.
2. Your car would crash for no reason at least twice a day.
3. Every time they re-painted the lines in the road, you'd have to get a new car.
4. Apple would create a car powered by the sun, that would go twice as fast, was easier to drive and would go longer between services but would only run on 5% of the roads.
5. When you go to open your car, it may lock you out and refuse to let you n until you hold open the handle and turn the key in the lock simultaneously.
6. All warning lights will be replaced by a "You have performed an illegal operation" light.
7. Before airbags open, you will be asked "Are you sure?"
8. Every time your car breaks down you will have to reinstall the engine.
9. You would have to press the "Start" button to turn off the engine.
