had a 2.0 as a courtesy car when waiting for my Ibiza. raced my mates 1.8.. neck and neck to 100, then it pulls away ever so slightly.
go 4 the 1.8, better all rounder.
or better still get the new astra. Looks well smart.

Well designed and practical, just an old mans car. Oh, and slow for what they are

i do my driving lessons in a 1.6 and it feels 100 times faster than the 1.2
wouldnt be surpirised if the 2.90 felt like it had a bit of pull in it?!
I'm not to keen on the vision tho but the interior is nice and solid

im not fussed bout it not being amazingly fast. it cant be any slower than the 2l fsi a4 ive been driving and that feels fairly nippy, more than enough for me.
2l astra is silly on insurance or i would get one of them, 2l focus is only group 8.

I test drove the 2.0l ESP and the ST170 before I bought the Clio. I was glad to get back in my GSi after the ESP, as it was slow and handling was nothing special. St170 was nice, handled better etc, but just not really that quick, had a nice interior though.

I agree, look at the Astra, I've driven the 2.0l Sri, and it was much nicer than the focus. Can pick em up for good prices aswell.
