OK, i've took all the old wallpaper off my walls today found there is wireing under some old filler (well sort of under the filler) that just fell out the wall. I think it's for lamps that were in place at some point. I dunno if they are live but will it be OK just to stick the wires behind some filler or will i need to get someone in to remove them?

follow them see where they go
go to do it all and get a tester it check to see if theres power in them turn every thing on in the house and turn stuff off 1 by 1 and if it stays dead all the time could be a old wire also dont forget the cetral heating as that only comes on via a timer.
hope this helps

Put your tongue on the ends of the wires, you will then know if they are live or not

I've just filled them back in for now but i've gotta order the wallpaper so i'll call
someone out to check them.
The seem to run down the wall and under to wood around the bottom of the floor on both sides. The don't got to any close plug sockets as the wall has not been refilled etc.
I can see that under the fire there are some wires so i'll pull the wood off tomorrow and see where it goes. It's a bit late now and people will get a bit pissed off.
