Is this a good idea.
I was considering focal polyglass comps up front and a set of midbass in the rear quarters, as my car is currently seriously lacking in the mid bass area.
Any opinions on midbass units, or has anyone got them?
I was looking at these maybe...
Genesis AudiophileMidbass units.

I buy all me speaker drivers from these guys. They are a little expensive, but you can't get these from anywhere else.
I have bought Vifa, tweeters, mid-bass and subwoofers, and all the crossovers from them, and installed them myself.

what you are doing is describing a 3way system up front as such.

Set the crossovers lowish on the midbass and you should create a really good sounding system with the above equipment.
The only problem i see that you might have, is drawing the sound stage back Due to the frequency range that mid-bass is, it is kinda directional. Hopefully this won't affect it, or be negligable.
I'm running a similar system, where i run 3 ways up front, and then have my wall behind me with subs.

you want to try and keep the mid and the tweeter close(ish) together, or else it won't sound 100% correct. the mid bass isn't as vital, but i would prefer to see them mounted in front of the drivers seat.
this is the reason a lot of people build kick pods by the wheel arches.

I plan to build a custom pod on me doors anyhow, so i can just make it a 3 speaker setup rather than 2.
