to renew my insurance.

my details:
Corsa C 1ltr 2002
10k miles a year
19 year old
South east of england
2 years ncb
Modifications: tinted windows
Fully comp insurance

HIC - guy convinced me to put 7.5k miles a year down and they wanted £1500

Adrian Flux - with CS discount they wanted £1600

Tesco - They wanted £789.60 without tints (renewal stats), rang them up and asked with tints and they didnt want an extra penny.

I was suprised at HIC/Adrianflux to be honest, HIC said they normally have good quotes for old cars, and adrianflux just said 'cause its modified'

So far Tesco is winning (I'm really suprised), can anyone suggest some good insurance companies for me to try?

Admiral: couldnt give me a quote and put me through to Autofirst.

Autofirst: £950, and I didnt even get to list my modifications yet.

Try Bell Direct also. I am pretty sure they are owned by Admiral - but they quoted over £100 less than admiral for me.

Youll struggle to get a cheaper quote than tesco (although im not saying you wont), they gave me a great quote even with all my mods declared - every single one.

Insurance sucks

I would be tempted to go for something cheap and quick and insure it tpft. Like a Nova GSI or something.

But you have the right idea building up your ncb.
