just ordered paint n lacquer so i can colour code me boot lock surround like the new face lift models

i have bought the surround from vaux already primed- so im told.

what is the next step how do i go about painting this properly its black sappire is it as easy as a...

couple of layers of paint, allow plenty of drying and then cover in the lacquer?
then wip other one off and place new one on

any pointers would be much appreciated

Primer it smooth by spraying on a few layers of the stuff then wet and drying it down... Then paint with colour, then laquer, flat and polish - Job done
